Summer in the City

We recently teamed up with Moda Operandi to present an exclusive capsule collection titled “The Art of Dressing.” To coincide with the Frieze Art Fair, we hosted a special pop-up in New York City to celebrate the launch of this exciting collaboration.

The pop-up event began with a VIP party on May 3, followed by public access on May 4-5. Customers and fans of The Frankie Shop and Moda Operandi enjoyed an exclusive first look and in-person interaction with the brands and products. The event featured themed cocktails, and light curated bites from Spilt Milk Collective, attended by tastemakers, friends and family.

April Hennig, Moda Operandi’s Chief Merchant, perfectly encapsulates the essence of our collaboration, stating, “The fifteen-piece collection, titled ‘The Art of Dressing,’ features pieces in a neutral color palette that can easily be worn from day-to-night and office-to-party. It’s the ultimate solution for looking chic in the city heat.”

Gaëlle Drevet, founder of The Frankie Shop, emphasizes its alignment with Moda Operandi’s mission to empower women through fashion. “Our 'Art of Dressing' capsule embodies the freedom and audacity of the art world—a celebration of self-confidence,” she says. “What we are showing here is that you can curate your physical environment and wear your point of view."

Inspired by the summer in the city, our capsule features 15 meticulously crafted pieces designed to transition you from day to night effortlessly. From sleek silhouettes to elevated essentials, each garment exudes the signature minimalist yet chic aesthetic that The Frankie Shop is renowned for.

In a nod to the collection’s muse, prominent women from the New York City art scene were featured in the campaign, shot by the talented photographer Myrthe Giesbers.

Gallerist Hannah Traore was photographed in her Lower East Side gallery, dedicated to celebrating artists marginalized from the mainstream narrative. Her eponymous gallery focuses on showcasing underrepresented and overlooked artists to a broader audience. The campaign also features artist Simone Bodmer-Turner and gallerist Emma Scully at Scully’s gallery.

Simone Bodmer-Turner is a multifaceted artist and designer whose work spans various mediums, including ceramics, plaster, and found materials, creating diverse and innovative designs. Emma Scully, known for her dedication to contemporary art and design, provides a perfect backdrop for highlighting the intersection of artistic disciplines and creative expression.
